Madeline Snell died Thursday, March 21, in her home. There will be no visitation. Survivors include daughter Janet Turner of Ainsworth; step-daughter Karen Sorensen of Omaha; step-son John Snell of Palm Bay, Fla.; and other family members. * Funeral service for Steve Schaaf, 62, of Atkinson, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, in the St Joseph's Catholic Church of Atkinson with burial in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Steve Schaaf died Thursday, March 21, in the Faith Regional Health Services of Norfolk. Visitation  is scheduled from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday in Seger Funeral Home of Atkinson with a 7 p.m. prayer service. * Funeral service for Kenneth E. Giles, 79, of Elsmere, Jan. 11, in the Elsmere Bible Church with burial in the Giles Cemetery. Kenneth Giles died Jan. 7 in his home. * Funeral service for Carol Ann Helenbolt, 81, of Stuart, Jan. 7, in the Stuart St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery near Naper. Carol Helenbolt died  Jan. 5 in her home. Survivors include her husband Neill Helenbolt of Stuart; son Johnny Helenbolt and wife Jenny of Tucson, Ariz.; daughters Sherry Hytrek and husband Gary of Long Beach, Calif., Lori Schaaf of Long Beach, Calif., Kerry Ogden of Kingsley, Iowa, Monie Paro and husband Bob of Omaha, and Julie Helenbolt of Lincoln; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Elaine Noonen and husband John of Ankeny, Iowa; and brother John Peterson and wife Melinda of Omaha.

* Funeral service for Evelyn Rose Kinzer, 90, of Gregory, S.D., Jan. 5, in the Gregory Berean Church with burial in the Colome City Cemetery. Evelyn Kinzer died Dec. 31 in the Avera Gregory Hospital.

* A memorial service for Daniel B. Wooters, 62, of Ainsworth, Jan. 5, in the Ainsworth Evangelical Free Church with inurnment at a later date at the Broken Bow Township Cemetery. Dan Wooters died Jan. 1 in the Brown County Hospital. Survivors include wife Dawn Wooters of Ainsworth; children Angela Haskell and husband Scott of Ainsworth, Jennifer Kettleborough and husband Casey of Council Grove, Kan., and Bo Wooters and wife Jessica of Callaway; seven grandchildren; brother Tex Wooters and wife Ellie of Callaway; sisters Monetha Spellbrink and husband Larry of Grand Island, and Gaylene Bennett and husband Wayne of Fullerton; and nieces, nephews and other family members.

* A memorial service for Jack Bachelor, 66, of Valentine, Jan. 4 in the Valentine United Methodist Church with burial in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Jack Bachelor died Dec. 24 in Omaha. Survivors include mother Edith Bachelor of Valentine; daughters Jodi Hanshew of Valentine, and Jill Anderson of Elm Creek; and son Aubrey Bachelor of Pleasant Dale.

* Funeral service for Max E. Hamik, 99, of Atkinson, Jan. 4, in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Atkinson with burial in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Max Hamik died Dec. 28 in the Atkinson Good Samaritan Center. Survivors include children Rick Hamik and wife Mary Beth of Lincoln, Gary Hamik and wife Cindy of Lincoln, Becky Watts and husband Gary of Iowa City, Iowa, Jeff Hamik and wife Carol of Atkinson, and Rol Hamik and wife Jill of Blue Springs, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

* Funeral service for Lyle David, 96, of Burwell formerly of Chambers, Jan. 3, in the Chambers United Methodist Church with burial in the Chambers Cemetery with military rites provided by the Chambers American Legion Post #320. Lyle David died Dec. 27 in the Burwell Community Memorial Health Center. Survivors include sons Billy David of Bassett, Tim David and wife Mary of Norfolk, and Terry David of Ainsworth; two granddaughters; two step-grandsons; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Doris David of Ord; brother-in-law Mike Vollbrecht and wife Mary of Arizona; and nieces and nephews.
