* A memorial service for John Loren "Sawdust" Hofeldt, 76, of Ainsworth, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, in Hoch Funeral Home of Ainsworth. Loren Hofeldt died Saturday, April 23, in his home. There will be no visitation. * Word has been received of the death of Dr. Alfred Dean Gilg, 85, of Long Pine. Dean "Doc" Gilg died April 4 in the CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital at Kearney. Cremation has taken place and, at Doc's request, no formal service will be held. Survivors include sons Doug Gilg and wife Betty of Powell, Ohio, Dan Gilg of Phoenix, Ariz., and Greg Gilg and wife Julie of Gothenburg; grandchildren and other family members.

Jesse Pankowski died April 1 in his aunt’s home at Johnson Lake. Toby Watts died Jan. 6 in the Saunders Medical Center at Wahoo.
