* A memorial service for Larry L. Smith, 76, of Ainsworth, will be held at a later date. Larry Smith died Tuesday, March 28, in the Sandhills Care Center at Ainsworth. * Funeral service for Carol M. Chase, 86, of Ainsworth, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, in the Ainsworth United Methodist Church with burial in the Purdum Cemetery. Carol Chase died Tuesday, March 28, in the Rock County Hospital at Bassett. Visitation is scheduled from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday in the United Methodist Church, and until the time of service Saturday in the church. Survivors include daughters Paige Coash and husband Don of Bassett, and Kathy Leach and husband Lanny of Ainsworth; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers Craig Meads and wife Bernita of Overton, and Cliff Meads and wife Linda of Elm Creek; brothers-in-law Micky Chase and wife Beth of Ainsworth, and Tom Bjorklund and wife Rosanne of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law Janice Rosane of St. Edward; and nieces, nephews and other family members. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Rock County Long Term Care at Bassett, Cottonwood Villa of Ainsworth or to the Nebraska Children’s Home of Omaha.

* A celebration of life service for Jameson Painter, 3, of Ainsworth, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 30, in the Bassett United Methodist Church. Jameson Painter died Friday, March 24, as a result of an accident. Survivors include parents Jason and Heather Painter of Ainsworth; and brothers Carter and Erick Painter of Ainsworth. A memorial fund has been established for the family, and memorials are being collected by the West Plains Bank, First National Bank, and Union Bank and Trust. Those attending Thursday’s service are asked to wear green, Jameson’s favorite color.

* Funeral service for Teresa L. Percival, 59, of Ainsworth, March 27, in the Ainsworth United Methodist Church with a graveside service at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 30, in the Bluffton Cemetery at Bluffton, Ark. Teresa Percival died March 23 in her home. * Word has been received of the death of Guy H. Schwarten, 60, of Ainsworth. Guy Schwarten died March 14 in his home. Cremation has taken place, and no local service is planned. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Oregon. Survivors include sister Deb Fairchild of Ainsworth; step-father Edwin Schwarten of Emerson and Palm Springs, Calif.; and step-siblings and other family members.

Lorraine Roebke died Jan. 3 in the Gardenside Long Term Care at Fairbury. Survivors include daughters Chyrel Remmers and husband Rod of Madison, Charlene Wilcox and husband Randy of Lincoln, Brenda Connell of Ainsworth, Mary Lou Janzen and husband Verlin of Hutchinson, Kan., and Charlotte Scott and husband Dale of Lincoln; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

* Funeral service for Margaret Cross Buckendorf, 100, of Lincoln formerly of Bassett, Jan. 2, in Roper and Sons Funeral Home of Lincoln with a graveside service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan.3, at the Bassett Memorial Park Cemetery. Margaret Buckendorf died Dec. 28 at Lincoln. Survivors include daughters Peggy Cross Wilkinson and husband Floyd of Lincoln, Judi Cross of Papillion, Kay Cross Fredeen of Kansas City, Mo., and Susan Cross Helms and husband Don of Phoenix, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; step-daughters Janice Fenemore and husband Bob of Kansas City, JoAnn Swanson and husband Dave of Bassett; and several step-grandchildren.

* Funeral service for Pearl Kaiser, 101, of Atkinson, Monday, Jan. 2, in Seger Funeral Home of Atkinson with burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Pearl Kaiser died Dec. 30 in the Parkside Manor at Stuart. Survivors include daughter Shirley Peterson of Atkinson; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Minnie Stevens of Casper, Wyo., and Inez Weller of Atkinson; and nieces and a nephew.
